Crown Positions

  • Position 0: Crown screwed in – normal running & manual winding
  • Position 1: Crown pulled out one click – sets the day and date
  • Position 2: Crown pulled out two clicks – sets the main time (hour & minute hands)

Winding & Power Reserve

The Miyota 8285 is automatic and winds itself while worn. Wearing it for ~8 hours a day will keep it fully charged (up to ~42 hours of power reserve).

If the watch has stopped, set the crown to Position 0 and wind it 20–30 turns clockwise.

⚠️ Don’t overwind — the built-in clutch prevents excess tension, but slow, steady turns are best.

Setting the Time

  1. Pull the crown to Position 2 (two clicks out).
  2. Turn the crown to move the hour and minute hands forward until the correct time is set.
  3. Push the crown back to Position 0 and screw down when finished.

⚠️ Always set the time forwards, not backwards.

Setting the Day & Date

  1. Pull the crown to Position 1 (one click out).
  2. Turn the crown clockwise to change the day.
  3. Turn the crown counter-clockwise to change the date.
  4. Push the crown back to Position 0 and screw down when finished.

⚠️ Do not adjust the day or date when the time is between 9 PM and 3 AM (this can damage the mechanism).

Cleaning & Care

  • Wipe the case and strap/bracelet with a soft microfiber cloth after wear.
  • For metal bracelets, use mild soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly.
  • Avoid exposing the watch to strong magnets, extreme shocks, or hot water/steam.

⚠️ Only water resistant when crown is completely screwed down!

All of our timepieces come with a 2-year warranty, which covers the functionality of the movement if case hasn't been opened. Any defects in materials and workmanship endured under normal use are also covered.
